Jon Lowe

Director of Trading


Jon Lowe has been in the financial services industry since 1999. He is the Director of Trading for XML and specializes in overseeing the trading operations within the firm. Jon started his career at Moors & Cabot Inc, before joining Wheat First Securities. Working at Wachovia for 5 years, Jon partnered with a team that specialized in working with international organizations such as the World Bank, the IMF (International Monetary Fund) and the OAS (Organization of American States). In 2005, he left Wachovia and joined Ryan Beck, which later became Stifel Nicolaus. In August of 2009, Jon joined XML Financial Group, a wealth management firm located in Rockville, MD, which works with individuals, corporations and non-profit organizations.

Education & Philanthropy

Jon sits on the Community Leadership Board for the American Diabetes Association in Washington, DC. He is the Founder and Chairman of the Board for the JL Foundation Inc., a local 501(c)(3) raising money and awareness to combat diabetes. Jon was an active member of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. Jon is a board member for the C.L.A.Y. Foundation, a non-profit organization helping to prevent child drowning. Jon sat on the board for JUST TRYAN IT, which helps kids with cancer.

Jon volunteers regularly for such groups as the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), DRWF (the Diabetes Research Wellness Foundation), the Joslin Diabetes Center and SOME (So Others Might Eat). Jon is a parishioner at Holy Redeemer Parish. He is an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Rock Creek Council, and is Vice President of the KayCee Club, which owns the Rock Creek Mansion.

Jon attended East Carolina University, concentrating his studies in Business and Finance. Jon resides in Kensington, MD with his wife and three children, and he spends his spare time being a dad, coaching and playing sports with his kids.
