Paul Corley joined LMA in 2009. His in-depth experience and devoted client commitment allows Paul to best understand his clients’ needs. He believes, “Understanding clients’ needs, goals and objectives is the basis to the whole planning and investment process and, ultimately, is integral to the client’s success.”
Paul’s primary focus is managing discretionary investment portfolios, as well as individual separate accounts. Paul attributes LMA’s vast resources to his ability to implement a clear and efficient program targeted towards clients’ goals.
Prior to joining LMA, Paul spent over 15 years in the financial services industry managing client portfolios, eight of which were spent working as a Portfolio Manager and Financial Planning Specialist at Smith Barney. As Paul explains, “My interest in planning and investing began while working as a human resources manager in the early 80’s. I discovered that the overwhelming majority of retirement plan participants had little or no experience identifying their goals, managing their investment plans or designing investment strategies that fit their goals. From this realization, my staff and I began addressing these issues by selecting a new custodian and advisor that would be available to consult with employees and their families. The end result was a higher participation rate, investment selections targeted to individual retirement goals, and an increase in goodwill for all.”
Prior to entering the wealth management arena, Paul spent 16 years in human resource management in the public and private sectors working directly with a variety of corporate and public retirement plans. Following the attacks of September 11, 2001, Paul was instrumental in organizing a support group to provide assistance to the victims and families affected by the attack on the U.S. Pentagon. He cites this as one of the most significant and personally moving experiences of his life.
Paul, his wife, Colonel Denise H. Corley, USA Retired, and their twins, Cole and Megan, reside in Brandenburg, Kentucky. Their oldest son graduated from the University of Oklahoma. When not at work, Paul most enjoys coaching youth sports, golfing, fishing, hunting and attending family events.
